Magpie books for writing

Discussion in 'English' started by luciecarolineharvey, Jan 15, 2012.

  1. I am about to set up magpie books within our primary school in line with the Talk For Writing strategy to help children store words and phrases from reading, to aid them in writing.
Has anyone got any advice on how to structure these books - Have you tried them in your own school? Do they work better as a class book for KS2 rather than for individuals?
As a trainee teacher, I would be grateful for any advice you can give.

    Thanks!
