Looking for some suitable software to use on Apple Mac machines. Ideally cross curricular software, suitable for use with MLD and ESBD pupils.
    Already have WORD.
    Thanks

  3. Software to do what?

  4. Hi
maybe you should be looking at using a VLE (e.g. Moodle)? Then it doesn't matter which type of PC you're using, as you'll be accessing a central server. I teach at a SEN school and we have a mixture of MAC, Windows and Linux all working together.
Mail me if you want more info - http://manxman.ch/moodle2
    Regards

  5. You are all being so 'PC' about this.

We are talking about a Mac user here.

The OP needs software to do 'stuff' that will be more 'creative' than you could ever imagine with your dull little Microsoft-limited minds.

  6. Try this:
    http://tuxpaint.org/download/macosx/

It's a smashing and very easy to use program - don't forget to download the stamps!
    It's a freebie as well.

  7. Generally, have a look at the open source stuff available for Linux e.g. GCompris
A modern Mac is actually FreeBSD with a pretty front end (the GUI bits) so it is generally not too difficult to cross compile it onto a Mac. Many applications have a Mac version automatically available.

    Thanks for all the help.
Just looking for some useful programs to inspire the pupils. Software which is more designed for craetive use, such as Art CDT etc.

  9. Have a gander through this link - I've filtered it for AppleOSX. May be some thing of use (well Audacity certainly is - as is GIMP).
