M5 2012-2013

    I am moving schools for September 2012. I am currently on M4 (not London) and will be on M5 (inner London) when September begins.
    Does anyone know or can anyone point me in the direction of, the pay scales for 2012-2013? I can't find them anywhere. I'm trying to work out if the salary I've been offered is in line with what I should be getting.

    They will be the same as the current amounts.

    Are they freezing pay for next year then?

    Sorry for my ignorance - I'm not very good at the whole money thing.

    My offer is £800 shy of that figure. Should I raise this with the school?

    yes on pay freeze
    What type of school is it? If academy/indie then they do not have to use STPCD
    If LEA, they have to pay the appropriate figure

    It's an independent school.

    I currently work at an independent school and they use the proper pay scales M1, M2 etc.

    Should I raise it with the school before signing the contract?

    Well you cant raise it after you've signed the contract. Depends how important the £800 is to you. They are under no obligation to pay what you ask but I suppose there's no harm in asking.
