  1. hi
advice please, I am currently completing my GTP year, previously I worked in FE as a trainee lecturer and have continued teaching an evening class whilst doing my GTP, which payscale should I be on?

The answer is certainly whatever a school is willing/ can afford to pay you, and sadly, in the present climate of more applicants than jobs I suspect that asking for M2 over the many willing to accept M1 might be ambitious. Progression up the teaching pay scale is only assured on the basis on QTS having been obtained.

over the years, I have known people being escalated up the paysclae but the way things are financially, I can't see it happening. I can't see any school offering to pay more than they have to when there will be loads of candidates who will cost them a grand or whatever the difference is less.

Wait till you get to UPS3 and only want to apply for teaching jobs.. No chance
