Love Poetry for Y9 - what would you teach?

Discussion in 'English' started by DorotheaBrooke, Apr 3, 2012.

  1. I'm writing a short SoW on Love Poetry for a mixed-ability Y9 class. I want to put together a little anthology that has a good mix of modern and traditional poems and features a range of different types of love: not just romantic love, but love for family and friends too. Below are the poems I've come up with so far. I was hoping people might have suggestions to add; are there any poems you would definitely use or not use with Y9? I'd particularly like some suggestions for more contemporary poems. Thanks very much.
