Hi there, I trained as a primary teacher and worked at two schools before leaving to raise my children. I'm just starting to seriously research going back to work but am finding it surprisingly difficult to get answers to all my questions so I'm hoping that good old TES might be able to help! - I have heard that the time limit before having to retrain is six years, can you confirm this please? I've been out for five so as you can imagine I might need to get a wriggle on. - What would it involve and cost to retrain? (Obviously I'd rather avoid doing this.) I know there are no refresher courses these days but is there anything else out there? - I am up for doing supply days; would this definitely count towards "keeping my hand in"/staying qualified? Because presumably I could get no work for long stretches of time, or even none at all and be in the same position. - And finally, would people recommend joining several agencies or approaching schools that I know directly? But I can ask that in the Supply Forum once I'm clear on the initial questions. I'd also appreciate any related thoughts you have on the subject. Thanks very much!
