Imagine how well Labour might do if they had a proper leader.
Also - spin it how you want
Losing over 1200 seats is a thumping in anyone's book.
A well deserved thumping IMO.
Yep, they may have only lost 20 councillors.
Labour would have done better if they had no leader at all.
The problem is that Momentum and The People's Campaign for Corbyn, (and the mindless sheep who have subscribed to these organisations) are destroying Labour from within. Their focus is on one individual rather than the politics of the Party as a whole.
Get rid of that obnoxious little septic ferret Corbyn and let's see what the Labour Party can achieve for the country if they come to power.
I agree but there would need to be a serious culling of shadow cabinet members before things improve.
I wonder what happened to those 183,658 new members that were said to have signed up to Labour for £3 a few years ago. Did they not come out to vote?
And a well deserved one at that.
39,000 spoilt ballots.
That seems high to me... is it?
We only had a choice from 3. Tory, Labour and Green. Tories got a shoeing and only maintained control by one seat (Solihull). I voted green on local issues although they are a remain party.
Where are the Independents then???
I wonder if it wasn't more this part of my statement that upset you.
My point was that UKIP lost a lot of votes/seats yesterday - the great wipe-out continued! This is despite the fact that the elections happened in areas of the country that were generally more Leave! It appears that the vast majority of Leave voters won't tolerate the Tommeh / Sargon of Akkad view of Brexit. Something that appears to upset lexus300
I believe that it was over 1300
39000 / 72 councils = 542 votes per council. Seems about right to me.
In the 2015 GE, there were around 97,870 apparently. Divide by 650 constituencies and that comes to about 151. As some councils seem to have about 3 or so constituencies in them, it would seem fairly similar?
Disgust is quite different.
B-S like this does not remove what you wrote earlier.
This tweet is a reassuring flashback to the worst Prime Minister I have had the misfortune to live under.
4 years later...
Imagine how much worse it might be now had Ed managed to make it past the finishing line with his stone tablet of biblical proportions.
And where are the SNP? And London seats.
