Hi, just wondering what literacy schemes you use in school ? I am on the hunt for an alternative to RWI Literacy and language and wondered if there were any other schemes that work well? Any spelling programs would be great too thanks.

We don't use a literacy scheme as such, but do use No Nonsense Spelling - not as a bible, more a guide. It's manageable, easy to follow and does cover everything for all year groups and it's not ridiculously expensive.

Don't do it. Teachers are well trained and creative. Let them look at the NC and plan their own lessons.

Schemes can be far too restrictive.

Hello @katieflump. Do you use Literacy and Language in your school at the moment? Just interested to know what your experiences are with it....
