Listening skills year 4

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by Massey118, Feb 16, 2011.

  1. Hey, I have a year 4 class and I am just wondering if anyone has any ideas on improving listening skills. I believe the class can sit and listen to instructions and ideas but there is quite a few who don't actually listen to everything being asked.

I have Year 4 and I always tell them to turn to their partner and tell them what we are doing first, second etc etc. They usually listen as they know they will have to repeat it - if they havent listened it is reinforced when their partner tells them.
