Inverclyde: 8 Nationals over S3 and S4 starting August @ 3 periods per week.
Renfrewshire: 7 Nationals over S4 @ 4 periods per week.

What are the other authorities doing?

    Think...
North Ayrshire: 8 Nationals over S3 @ 3 periods per week then S4 @ 4 periods per week.

  3. South Lanarkshire (or possibly just lucky old "us" :( ): 6 Nationals in S4 @ 5 or 6 periods per week = disadvantaged pupils and another year of treading water ... I mean swimming breadths at depth. Not happy.

7 ( or is it 8) nationals in S4. Nothing in S3 except for electives and one col. of a skills course on a 10 week rotation. So, the pupils that have chosen to be in my subject in S3 could leave in S4 and vice versa, which menas not much point in trying to cover any of the Nat. material..........
Sorry if this sounds a bit despondent ... counting the days til the end of term.

S1-S3 broad based course with choices in Technology (ie Home Ec, Business St, Computing and Tech) and Creative (Art/ Music, Dance) columns.
S4-6 senior phase 6 subjects. Will be interesting to see how timetable works with 3 year groups instead of 2.
We've been told this year will be last year of Int 1/2 for senior pupils - they will instead do National 4 and 5 as it's not possible to timetable Int 1/2 and National 4/5 at the same time.

At a recent event, an SQA spokesperson confirmed that, despite discussion at local level, the national message is still that the broad general education should make up s1-3 with senior phase starting in s4 (3+3).
