Life cycles- Science year 5

Discussion in 'Primary' started by thedancingqueen, Jun 5, 2011.

  1. Hi. I'm a trainee on my final block placement and am posting this for some quick advice please. My current science topic is life cycles. We've done animal life cycles (covered many), germination, parts of a flower, functions of parts of the flower and germination investigations. I have 6 more Science lessons to teach and my school loosely follow the QCA scheme. Apart from pollination which is the next thing I'm tackling and actually going through the life cycle of a flower, what else can I cover please which would make for some really interesting science? I've specialised in science at university and love hands on activities and investigations so I welcome all suggestions. Thanks.
  2. If anyone has some suggestions for how to make pollination an interesting lesson, that would be a huge help. I have prepared a straightforward powerpoint and have a few fairly short but helpful clips to show them. I'm not sure what to get the children to do for their independent activity though.
