Levelling writing

Discussion in 'Primary' started by Ucan2, May 13, 2011.

  1. I am finding this more and more difficult. We use app but it takes ages. Is there not just an easy reference guide e.g. Level 2a if they use capital letters and full stops, time connectives and interesting and appropriate vocab? Just a simple list so they can be sorted into levels ready for more detailed analysis on app. I used to be able to give a level just by looking at a piece of writing but with app am becoming less and less confident.

  2. That's just what I was looking for - thankyou. Some other interesting things there too - I like the Punctuation Thief!

  3. Try Roz Wilson writing scales- tick boxes, you count the ticks, and then the amount gives you a level.
I know there are some in the resources on this site...
