If you are going with voice and point of view, I might do something like this: 1. Give students a character card, ask them to construct as many details about character as possible. Give specific context - e.g. plane trip - who are they? where are they going? why? etc. Get them to construct short paragraph if you feel there is time. Hear examples of ideas / work (5-10) 2. Give them next couple of paragraphs of narrative e.g. plane crashes. Explain that the sense of voice has been lost and that in order to get a l7 it has to be sustained. Ask students to identify examples where character details can be added in and to text mark the text for these. Take feedback. (5) 3. Ask students to construct the third paragraph, ensuring character details are maintained. What happens? What character details can they get in? (10) Take feedback.
