Letter of application / personal statement

    Hi all,
A quick question which I hope you can help with.

On a job advert, it says to write a letter of application addressed to the head teacher, which I have done.
However, on the application form itself, there is a box for a personal statement.

Should I write something in there? Maybe a summary of key points from my letter? Or should it be totally different?
Sorry if this has been asked - I have searched and can't find anything.
    Thank you.

Your personal statement should address points on the person spec.

    There is no person spec.
All I have is a short bullet point list from the advert which states in basic terms what they are looking for.
Should I use that as the basis?

yes, are there not further details elsewhere?

When there is no person spec I use the teacher standards and write 8 short paragraphs, 1 on each standard.

It might be worth ringing the school for an informal chat - you can either ask for a spec or based on the conversation, tailor your response.
