Leaving teaching - other jobs in Education

Ideally I'd like to leave teaching but will find that difficult when I have to pay rent for a one bed flat in the South East and it seems that in order to do anything else, even it's a more minor role in education, I'd have to take a big pay cut. After getting to UPS3 and being a sole earner, I'm trapped. Can anyone recommend any other options which they know have worked for other people who've left the profession?

I know that there are more workshop style companies that have popped up across the UK - ones that boost the progress of underachievers, where the tutors are posted in hotels etc. Apparently you don't have to be a teacher. But then I don't think that they can guarantee full time work.

Can anyone help? I teach English which seems to be quite a practical one.

Good luck in finding a new post! It doesn't sound like you're trying to get out urgently but are able to take your time and apply for the right thing?
    Here are some ideas:
Try a different setting? Primary booster intervention, inde sector, prison, FE, PRU, special, hospital setting?
Try working for an educational recruitment agency
    Try an educational suppliers
    Try a job in editing

To sub a drop in income you could: private tutor and exam mark. There's loads going for marking english over the summer. Try pearsons!
