Ive been studying a computer science conversion for almost 1 year, on a part time basis. I’m due to graduate January 2021 so I do have a little time yet, though I’m starting to fret about actually being able to get a job!

I’m really concerned I’m kind of trapped due to the very large periods of notice we have to give, and how this might affect my employability. How did you guys negotiate this? Will I need to supply first in order to reduce my notice period? I don’t want teaching to trap me with it’s notice periods!

Any help, advice or even stories of what you did would be greatly appreciated.

If you don't like the notice periods in teaching don't become a teacher!

Try to get a fixed term contract, then you’ll have a specific end date to plan around. Or do supply.
