I've been offered an accepted a new position starting from September, I've made my headteacher aware of this unformally as of yesterday but not sure when to put my notice in and what date to write on it? I'm required to give 4 weeks notice, so I will be required to work until the last day of term. My main worry is missing out on pay over the summer holidays, for example if I handed it in now with 4 weeks notice would I only receive a payment for 2 weeks worth of the school hols?

Put it in today and state “with my contract ending 31st august”

    That’s what I’ve done. I resigned today!
