Leaving a permanent post for supply is as risky as leaving a job in hope of winning the lottery

Only you are likely to win more money with the lottery and be destitute with supply. Still, the odds of making a decent living anymore out of supply are about the same as winning the jackpot.
I got loads of work doing supply last year and the one previous. This year has been only about 40 per cent of what I got last year.
Meanwhile thousands of teachers are chucking away their jobs in the hope of making a living out of supply and basically making the tiny amount of work even more minuscule for the rest of us.
Just leave teaching rather than go down the supply route. Trust me, there is not enough work to go round. I guarantee with thousands more teachers next year and less work it will be even more thin on the ground.
    Opinions welcome.

Dale, I don't think there are as many teachers flocking to supply teaching as you think. Most are leaving teaching full stop.
