Leadership pay

Discussion in 'Pay and conditions' started by rptlondon, Apr 20, 2012.

  1. If a Leadership advert states the pay as L2-L6 for example,
Where should I expect to start? Should I discuss this at my interview?
In my current job I am on L6.

The problem for you is that you're already at the top of the ISR that the governors want to pay and they might well be minded to offer you the job, but unwilling to pay any more (I've known people in your position actually take a pay cut) - especially if to do so has ramifications for other staff on L scale.
You can ask them to pay you at L6 - but then you face no movement upwards; you can tell them you'll only take it if the ISR is changed to give you something to go up to - but it's extremely likely they will refuse. Whatever you decide to do, you need to do it at the interview.
