    I just had to Goggle it! As far as I can gather,it looks like it's locally produced meat (from "pays"). All the links I've found are from the Reunion Island,therefore,that would explains strange spelling.

    .. which is where I found the word ------ it must be Créole: I'll check with my Reunionnese friends!
