I’m a teacher in an SEN school and I would really like a few of my ks3 pupils to get their functional skills maths/English levels 1/2. I have looked at the aqa and edexcel exam boards but, having never taught functional skills, I was wondering if anyone had advice on which exam board they have found more successful?

I always found Aqa to be more user friendly for the pupils and their support was better.

Agreed, if you must do functional skills then AQA is the most accessible.

Functional skills English is ok in general, but for me the maths is a nightmare, particularly at level 2. They are really English tests with different vocabulary.
