KS3 in 4 terms - help!

Discussion in 'Music' started by fretless, Apr 11, 2011.

  1. KS3 is now years 7 and 8 in my school and following further changes to the timetable I will be expected to get all pupils to their KS3 target in the equivalent of 4 terms of 1 hour per week. I am now struggling to decide what to include and what can be pruned (yet again) so that pupils receive a broad and balanced experience in music as well as meeting the expectations for targets. I have good resources - imacs, keyboards, djembes, tuned percussion (I do not have guitars). Has anyone got any advice, help or suggestions?

The school should lower the target expectations if they've drastically cut the pupils' curriculum time.If they won't then you need to speak to your union if your performance management is to be measured against these targets.
