It would need an extremely incompetent IT manager not to block proxy access - apart from anything else, it would allow kids to download **** onto the school's intranet.
  3. Does it have to be TV work or could you use radio adverts? Is there anyway to stream and record that way? I've done projects on radio jingles with my students and they've really enjoyed it, I had a great guest in called Steve Parry. He was fed up with the 'Beat the Busby' theme tune for Radio 2 as he thought it was rubbish so he wrote a new one and sent it in. I don't know if things like that are available on line or through podcasts. Would that work? Or could you use trailers for films instead? There must be plenty of those around, you could use a DVD you own and show the trailers at the front of that maybe?
  4. Hi, when you watch Youtube, do you get the little popup 'Download' box top-right of the picture?
This saves each clip as a Real Player download which should play in school.
Of course this is also very useful for examples of unusual instruments.
    Have you come across listentoyoutube.com.....
.....this enables you to save any good music clips on Youtube as mp3 files. I find it easiest to use it by deleting www. from the youtube url and simply replace it with listento
.....if you haven't seen this band before they are hilarious, and of course, very talented.
    Havw Fun,
