    hey guys,
Just need some advice. I have a mixed age class with lower ability year 2s. Is a couple of years since I did SATS and just wondered if someone could give me a quick checklist of the kind of things that you would expect to see in both the short and long writing tasks (success criteria if you will).
  2. I think it depends on the year you have selected because the tasks are so varied. For example a riddle has very different criteria to an invitation. If you look in the teachers book for the year's tests/tasks you are doing there is the marks scheme which identifies the criteria. The school should have ordered the teachers guide at the same time as the test papers so it should be in school.
    Beyond that, the usual stuff:
Mix of basic and compound sentences
    Apt and interesting word choices
    Makes sense!
Appopriate use of tenses and first/third person
    Using appropriate style
    Organisation of text.
Just a few points go for handwriting
    Hope that helps
