Various admin and registration improvements. Fixed June 2010
    <u>Issues we cannot fix</u>
Single user issue with some missing smileys (Vista, IE8). Unable to replicate.
User reported the site does not work properly in Opera. Missing formatting options/smileys in post text area.
    <u>Outstanding reported issues</u>
The following reported issues with TES Connect
The error message should be clearer than "Forum not found" or "Oops" when duplicate posts are attempted. Awaiting development time.
Hotlist - when this gets too long (more than 65 threads), user gets a blank box instead of the list in the profile box and a blank page when clicking the hotlist link at the top of the page. The list on the RHS remains. Should inform user when max reached. Reported to dev 3/12/09

    Can't see your post?
If you don't see a post that you have made right away, this is because of the delay in the various servers. When you post, you could be placed on another one afterwards so you think your post hasn't come out. If you try again too soon, the system considers this a duplicate and will show either a Forum Not Found message or an Oops unless you type a slightly different post or have waited a little while. When you know you have posted but cannot see it immediately, hit ctrl F5 until you do or at least be confident that it has posted unless you see an error.
    <u>Development requirements</u>
Allow users to block friend requests, PMs and ignore posts from certain users. Requested
Make Groups/sections collapsible in the LH list when a user clicks it and allow it to be expanded when clicked on again.
If you wish to report any further problems, please email us at help@tes.co.uk

  3. Since 10.30am on 3/2/10
Users unable to post in the forums. Receive an "Oops something went wrong". We are investigating this problem and apologise for any inconvenience.
This was caused by the year date being changed to 2013. All was resolved when this was put back to the correct year.

  4. Star smiley not working. Reported to dev 10/3/10.

  5. Forum not found - unable to access forums and/or threads
    How the bug works:
<ol>[*]If a user has a closed forum still in their hotlist - they get forum not found if they try to access any other forum but can access odd threads in their hotlist.[*]If a user has a link to a thread in a closed forum still in their hotlist - they can access forums but they get forum not found if they try to access any thread.</ol>We have closed the following forums:-
    Valentine's forum (until next year)
    Teacher Support clinic forum
Behaviour clinic (Sue Cowley) and moved all threads from that forum to the Behaviour forum
    Unions
    Critical thinking
    Cyberbullying
    Healthy schools
    Masters in teaching and learning
    School linking
    Scotland - Classroom assistants
    Scotland - Further education
Performing Arts - and moved the threads to Drama - renamed it Drama and Performing Arts
    Children's Centres
    FE - Management
    New Career Directions
    Holocaust memorial day
    Pre-U and IGCSE

If anybody has any problems accessing forums or threads, you should remove any links to these forums (including threads) from your Hotlist. You can access your full Hotlist by clicking the link at the top of the page, in your profile area or via the following link:
    Hotlist
If you do not see any links to these forums in your hotlist, try deleting threads from your hotlist one by one as the offending thread may not appear until you start to do this. Any problems, please email us at help@tes.co.uk and if you have another username you can try, please do so.
    We apologise for any inconvenience
Reported to dev 15/2/10 and again 21/4/10. Reminder sent 4/11/10

  6. <u>Teaching profile bug - Specialism History</u>
The subject entered under teaching profile shows "Specialism History" when a user views their own profile. If others click on a username to view a profile, they will see the correct information.
To see how yours looks to others, click on your username from any post, resource upload, comment.
This bug was reported to our developers 12/4/10. Fixed 18/05/2010

  7. Hotlist - when this gets too long (more than 65 threads), user gets the following pop up error message:
    'unresponsive script'
To cure this you will have to remove threads from the hotlist (below 65). If you have too many to delete one by one, we suggest you request that your account is closed which would enable you to re-register the same username under the same email address. Email help@tes.co.uk if you wish to do this.

  8. Repeated threads
Showing 4 times in the Personal forum:-
The Third Place (reported to dev 22/4/10 when two showing)
Showing in triplicate in the Personal forum:-
Slimming World for Tessers (reported to dev 5/5/10 when three showing)
These threads are now locked until this is resolved.

  9. <u>'Forum not found' when clicking on usernames</u>
This should show the user profile. To see a user profile, click on their avatar.
Reported to dev on 11/5/10. Fixed 18/05/2010

  10. <u>Friends List</u>
There is a bug which is intermittently preventing user friend lists from appearing.
    Reported to dev 13/5/10

  11. There is a problem with some Talk Talk/Tiscali/AOL customers not being able to access some sites which includes ours.
