jumping over the threshold?

  1. Can a teacher who has not gone through the thresholds get the job as Senior Leadership and jump to a higher payscale?

  3. Yes.Leaders are paid on the leadership spine and it's irrelevant whether you were on MPS or UPS previously.

    Yes, but you might also want to make sure that you meet the Post Threshold standards as if, in the future, you go back to being a mainstream teacher, at this or another school, you'd revert to M6 pay when you might otherwise be on UPS1,2 OR 3.

    I understood that teachers on leadership are asumed to have met all the threshold standards and if they revert back to being a 'normal' teacher then start on at least UPS1,

    Possibly, but if they've been on Leadership for a few years and then stop, they are worse off than if they'd stayed ont he POst Threshold progression.
