Ecuador to hand over Assange to UK ‘in coming weeks or days,’ own sources tell RT's editor-in chief

'Ecuador is ready to hand over the WikiLeaks founder to the UK in “coming weeks or even days,” RT editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan said citing her own sources, as prospects of his eviction from the embassy are back in the media.'
    RT.com, 20th July 2018.

However, Assange might already have made a break for it disguised as a couch:

If it is him then he must hope that the van is not headed for an Ikea warehouse.

This is not just about Assange, there are issues of press freedom here and what the public should be allowed to know.

There are lots of things I feel very pessimistic about - the quality of the press is one of them but, like all the rest, it feels right now like King Canute, just impossible to fight the tide.

The sentence he risks for his offence(s)..…would they be much longer than the one he put on himself? How many years has he been in the embassy?

That depends upon whether Sweden render him to the USA.

Ecuador's govt has released a statement saying that the Assange situation is not on the agenda for his visit to Europe this week. I had inferred from some of the UK reporting that that was precisely what he was here for.

I'm not sure what I think about Assange.
The only thing I know is that, as far as I can tell, he's never lied to me.
    Unlike my own government(s).

Everyone loved him when he was highlighting the crimes and misdemeanours of the Bush era...

Then they turned on him when he highlighted the crimes and misdemeanours of the Obama era...

If he carries on as before he'll get the love back.
