Joke bench construction

Discussion in 'Design and technology' started by consonant, Jan 9, 2012.

  1. Please can I pick your brains?
I am a Drama teacher and I need a bench which tips down at one end, causing the child at that end to fall on the floor, when a child at the other end stands up. I will have to make this myself and don't know where to start!
Could anyone sketch me a simple idea? I would be very grateful!

  5. Take a normal stool and place a plank on it which is 3 times the size of the stool top. When somebody sits in the middle it is stable. If somebody sits on one end it should still be stable. When the person in the middle gets up, it will tip over.
That's the basics. Obviously if you want one to sit on each end, they must both sit at the same time.
