    Hi all,

Any views/opinions on the religious affiliated school in Damansara please? Is there a provident fund? Any ideas about salary bracket?
    Thanks for info!

They pay well, are in the EPF scheme and are one of the better schools here. They do have 3yr contracts though.

I think the information booklets provided for staff by international schools are so important, as a first impression. Some don't detail the package being offered, just wax lyrical about the school, which info can be gleaned from the website, anyway.

There are loads of different text sizes, fonts, images randomly placed and huge white blocks in there. I really don't know how a school could be good quality and yet have such a poor way of presenting themselves to potential employees. Maybe it's possible but these things presumably went past the head who OKd them. So you're going to have someone observing and judging your lesson who thought this was perfectly fine

The St Jo’s in Singapore has a good reputation, I think?

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine was offered 15000 plus 3800 about 6 months back at the ‘area outside your house’ school. Would that be a similar package or better? My friend was an experienced teacher (30 years).

Thats’s a decent package but I’m surprised it’s not better at that school.

Does anyone have specific info on Joe’s Place salary and benefits please? Also is it true the retirement age in Malaysia is now 65?

Thanks for the info. Any idea on length of school day please? It says 7.30 to 4.30 somewhere? Is this office hours...? I read that schools in SE Asia have a shorter day but this doesn't sound like it.
