Jobs other than teaching

Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by NZdreamer, May 31, 2011.

  1. Apparently I am over qualified to be a post-woman.........seriously starting to panic about paying everything now, and I think I want the house to sell even more than I want a job to relieve the financial pressure.........

My friend gained her first primary teacher post after being employed as a TA at the same school. As soon as a teaching job came up she applied and got it so it is definitely worth considering.
The Child Development in secondary is also a thought, I also know someone who got a year contract teaching Child Development in secondary from September and she is a qualified primary teacher but those jobs are few and far between and you'll be competing with secondary PGCE students whose specialism is Health and Social Care (they seem to cross over).
My own thoughts would be that heads know how competitive the job market is so will understand that candidates might be working out of education. I would say it looks better than being unemployed or just doing a day's supply here and there.
