Job Vacancy, do I apply?

After being invited to so many interviews I really thought I'd have had a job already =( I've attended four interviews and been rejected or 'pipped at the post'.
So basically I'm back on the job hunt. There is a vacancy at a school 5 minutes away from me but the advert states they would ideally like someone with an interest/specialism in Art - I really don't but am still interested in applying.
Do I just apply and hope for the best?
I mean one school required teachers interested in music, but I still got an interview.
    Any advice?

Was this primary (with experience in Art)? Or a secondary Art post?
I've experience in Art but not teaching it and have avoided those posts (as I'm not even getting interviews in my own subject - D&T!) Is it worth applying? x

It wouldn't be wordrd like that for secondary, so Primary.
And you are right that if it were secondary, it would not be appropriate to apply.
