Job prospects with Subject Knowledge Enhancement course vs Degree

    Hi everybody.

I graduated with a 2.1 Law degree in 2011. Afterwards I went to China to teach English as a foreign language and found that I really enjoy teaching and think it could be my permanent career.

I’m considering doing a subject knowledge enhancement course in geography (which I studied at a-level) and applying for a secondary geography pgce.

My concern is that while this may get me onto the course would I struggle to find a job afterwards? Would I be at a massive disadvantage compared to those who studied the subject at degree level?

If this were to be the case I’d consider primary teaching but I think secondary would be my first choice.

Thanks in advance for any help/advice.
