My first three applications were made and three interviews have now been offered to me! The first is next week and the the second two are the week after. I personalised each application to the school, by linking my skills and experience with their specialism, talking about their Ofsted report and what I could bring to support their needs. I really sold myself, discussing my experience and knowledge of my subject. Lastly, I backed all my claims up with an example. Oh and of course the all important ES was included! Each application took me hours, it was hard work but I can not echo what Theo says enough about starting each application afresh. Lots of my fellow trainees have been using the same letter of application/personal statement with just a few extra bits added and they are not securing interviews. Now I just need to get some effective lessons planned for the interview and prepare for possible questions! All very nerve racking but will let you know how I get on. I am 1 of 5 interviewees in each. Follow the advice on these forums, it really works!
