You can find out via the Geni website:

"Happy birthday to Kevin Bacon! How many degrees away are you from the star? geni.com/blog/profile-o… #familytree"

It seems Kevin & I are cousins. Yes really. (Well, 16th cousins....!)

I'm sure some here can improve on this!

NB This is all a version of 'Bacon's Law' - for those not up to speed on this, see here:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_D...on's Law" is a,and prolific actor Kevin Bacon.

That is the second film in my life which I walked out of the cinema from because it was so bad.

And so now it's time for an unrelated gif

Disagree. Seen 'Mystic River'? Or 'The Woodsman'?

Yes, he is really poor at acting. Or-in fairness to the acting profession- perhaps it is a case of filmmakers being really poor at filming him. All sixty five of them.

But he is really good at being remembered for one film where dancing happened even though most of it was done by a double, and for having a name which is also some meat.

Anyway, just used the link in the OP and turns out I'm his sister.

I think you’ve hit on the key reason for his popularity. He reminds everyone of bacon sandwiches.

The OP link won’t work for me.

    Nah, that was 'Flashdance'.

If it was not bad enough to find out the actress there did not take real part in the final (in)famous scene, it turned out the climax move, the breakdance spin, was completed by a man.

Bacon keeps trying to sell me a mobile phone and I guess he cannot be too good at that as I cannot even remember who the provider he is advertising is....last I remember they were giving extra data to NHS staff.

Know your dance films! He was in Footloose, in which he actually had five doubles-one for the dancing, one for the stunts and three for the gymnastics. More Bacon doubles than leg warmers.

As I can find no mention of Kevin Bacon graduating, I'm one degree away from him.

Intrigued by this I just looked up some more Bacon Bits and found that his choice to work in acting at a time when his peers were going to University was a superbly well founded life decision. In his words-"I wanted life, man, the real thing"
It is right thinking and high minded words such as this that serve to remind that he could probably stand as a very close runner with Kanye.
I'm so glad this long overdue thread was started, thank you OP! Let's just hope the forum bullies don't descend on it with predictable Bacon Bashing.

    Probably a zillion.
But I'm two from Claude Monet and two from Jimi Hendrix.
