Love Istanbul. Great city to live in and a salary of £1500 tax free and accommodation is enough to give a decent lifestyle.
If it is BIS, get yourself off there. A great school in my opinion.

So I guess Istanbul is better than Saudi Arabia hands down eh ?
What about Istanbul vs. Doha (Qatar) ?

I've been contracted to work in 4 Islamic countries but the difference in each is startling. In Saudi you are constantly aware of the fact and indeed slightly fear doing anything that may cause offence, in Egypt and Turkey, you are aware of the religious backdrop but it has a marginal effect on you, whilst in Indonesia one would find it hard to guess what the prevailing religion was for the majority of the time given the jeans and t-shirt attire of the vast majority.
Never been to Qatar other than a long haul through the airport.
