Does anyone have a mark scheme that you have used to mark the ISEB 11+ Writing?
The ISEB writing paper offers a total of 35 marks including a mark out of 10 for spelling, syntax, and punctuation - how is this broken down and to what objectives?
I am an experienced Year 6 teacher but the parameters for assessing Y6 SATs writing are quite different.

Any further help is greatly appreciated, thank you.

Important advice re. English Writing papers: Schools are advised to mark Paper 2 according to their own criteria and so this particular paper does not come with a mark scheme.

Not much help to you...is there someone at school who can help?

I don't teach in an independent school - I am helping with 11+ entrance exams - I understand the National Curriculum expectations for 'Working at' and 'Greater depth' but the nature of how pupils are assessed for this is very different. Whilst I'd be aiming for writing to achieve these objectives, I just wanted to see some specific parameters for how an individual piece would be assessed.

My experience is only with maths, and is limited, but the expectations are rather higher than those for the NC SATs.
So if you were to look at expectations for year 8/9 you'd probably be closer to what is needed.

Or hopefully someone who is an English specialist will come along and be happy to share. :)
