She looked so old and could hardly walk. Did anyone notice?
I was concerned at how frail she looked
She is nearly 80, but she's had issues with depression for decades and at one point was thought to have CFS, but it turned out to be undiagnosed coeliac disease.
Shame, she seems like such a lovely woman.
Whereas in contrast Queenie looks good for another twenty years! Such a youthful complexion.
Philip looks younger than Charles!
Yes they both fairly zipped up the stairs.
I was quite impressed with Lizzie.
Don't hold your breath, Charlie. Your mum is made of stern stuff.
Yes, the Duchess of Kent looked quite frail today, but her smile was as lovely as ever.
She seemed very determined to make it up into the Abbey unaided.
I think she would be a very proud and independent lady.
I suppose they are all getting older.
She has always been one of my favourite Royals
She was always the better looking one of "the firm". It was sad to see her stuggle today it would seem both physically and mentally her eyes wandered considerably. Well at least they are now trying to improve the gene pool. Harry could do a lot worse than to walk out with Pippa in my view. She on the other hand looks like she might have more taste.
Don't think the Pipster has much time for his jolly japes.
Is Pricess Alexandra still with us?
She was always graceful, poised, smiley and elegant. I liked her.
I said exactly what others here are saying about Charles - he's looking so old these days. I wouldn't put bets on him outliving his mother at all.
I think she was there escorted by her son - somebody Ogilvie. Looked old, if I was looking at the right person.
Thanks Lindenlea...I couldn't concentrate much on the arrivals at the Abbey (the bit I enjoy most so I feel a bit miffed!) because we were all chatting too much and toddlers were wandering around...we sort of focused properly when we saw Kate leaving her hotel.
Alexandra must be getting on now...and I remember the death of her husband, Angus Ogilvie.
It's strange isn't it when you don't see pictures for a while. I was so surprised to see Charles Spencer with grey hair and looking so much older. His three daughters are so pretty...in a blonde and bland sort of way. Saw a pic of them last night. (They obviously inherited their mother's looks!)
Princess Alexandra was there, and she looked very well indeed.
Spencer couldn't have looked much more like his Dad when he escorted Diana up the aisle! I think Prince Harry sounds quite a catch when i've heard interviews.
I remember my mother explaining to me why all these people were called prince and princess when none of them was the son or daughter of a monarch. They acquired the status of people my parents thought were cool (aged film stars and musicians I'd never heard of, mainly). I'm always sad to hear one of them has shuffled off.
