Is it unproffessional...

  4. No idea but if you have spelt 'unproffessional' in your letter of app the same way you have here, you won't get a reply.

    I can't see how it would help.
    IF you are on the shortlist they will get in touch with you shortly. If you are not, then getting in touch with them is not going to change their minds.
    Just assume you have not been shortlisted, then if you are, it will be a pleasant surprise.
