Maybe a lucky lady out there already has the long flowing white beard?

I did just suggest such a thing to MrsLan... she doesn't look too impressed with me...

And usually she looks very impressed...

One year the man who was supposed to play Father Christmas at our Nursery Christmas party didn't turn up in time so the school secretary stood in and handed out the presents. She was in full costume with fake cotton wool beard and they all fell for it except one little girl who whispered in my ear 'He's wearing high heels'.

Come to think if it further back than that, mid 80s, we had Mother Christmas at school.

So it's a non story for me.

If anyone has evidential proof that Saint Nicholas of Myra, early Christian bishop of the ancient Greek city of Myra in Asia Minor during the time of the Roman Empire, revered by many Christians as a saint and the origin of the traditional Santa Claus/Father Christmas was actually a woman then yes.

    Otherwise no.

Odin is a god not a goddess. So no.
St. Nicholas was a man not a woman, so no.
However, the earliest representation of this character in Britain was a general pagan figure that appeared at the winter solstice wearing a long, green hooded cloak and a wreath of holly, ivy or mistletoe and who represented the coming of spring. So on that basis, possibly yes.

A non-binary Parent Christmas would be truly progressive .

If we have a female Father Christmas could we have a male Virgin Mary?

Oh, what a laugh it would have been
    If Daddy had only seen
Mommy kissing Santa Claus last night.

A larf and a half, I'd have thought if Christmas dinner end up in tears over Mommy trying to explain to her children, her husband and her in-laws why she kissed a girl and liked it.

    Assistant. To who?
Elves are not idiotically-clad females de facto. Anymore than Santa is obese.

Has anyone ever asked what made Santa obese? Was Coco Cola giving a Freudian hint in branding Santa with their corporate identity?

The poor b.astard won't just be obese. He'll be so diabetic by now, that all his limbs will have dropped off by now.
