Is a parents evening classed as 'essential contact'?

The govenment's latest advice is to avoid all 'non essential contact'. My school is going ahead with parents evening tomorrow. Surely this is non essential contact?
    Thoughts or advice please.

Depends on how it's arranged. Teachers in own classrooms, plenty of distance from parents would be better than all crammed into one school hall.
Most teachers and most parents would be in relatively low-risk groups.
Might be innovative alternatives incl phone or Skype.

Ours was cancelled, due to safety concerns, they should have just asked for you to sign their planners and call parents/guardians

This is insane. Consult your union asap

We're trialling ours via video with a small number of parents before we roll it out across the whole school. There's a legal requirement regarding feedback but you can be creative about how you meet that requirement.
