I've recently been made computing co-ordinator. Does anybody have any recommendations for quality iPad apps? Anything related to phonics/spelling would be fab!

Also, has anyone used minecraft in school? To be what effect?

Doodle maths is brilliant for maths. Not sure of anything for literacy.

We use Lexia Core 5 for our primary classes. It's expensive but brilliant for independent work and goes at the pace of the learner. It's a literacy app / programme that starts at year 1 - year 6+.

Socrative - You create your own quizzes and the children answer them on the iPad.

Plickers - Similar to Socrative but the children have QR code cards that you scan with your iPad.

Class Dojo - Not an app for learning but more reward management - we use it to calculate house points and the children like the little figures and noises.
