iPad apps and sites that don't have flash ie those which you can use on the iPad

Discussion in 'Primary' started by potatogirl, Sep 14, 2012.

  1. Two things really... Does anyone have any recommendations for great educational apps? Also we are subscribed to mathletics and education city. Both great sites but not usable on iPads as they don't have flash. Neither does mymaths or target tracker. It would be so good if the kids could access these sites or similar via iPad. Does anyone have any suggestions or know of similar sites that are not flash driven. Thanks in anticipation

Educreations - you can use it to create videos on your ipad on whiteboard like thing. its pretty cool as you can then upload it on to the net for the kids to access at home. perfect for setting homework.

Puffin web-browser app lets you view flash on an ipad. Free version only has this facility for 2 weeks, but the full version is only a couple of punds.

We too love Mathletics, and have 30 iPads on their way. I already have tons of ideas for apps I want to use - focused mainly on music so far and an recommend:
    Monkey drum
    Recorder master
    Garage band
    Tap a tune
    Princess piano

Looking at a panoramic camera app, to use with tour wrist. Math bingo, stargazer apps - loads and loads!

    Check this out for ideas

Don't even think we'll have time to use them for Mathletics! Their capability goes so far beyond web browsing! But when we need them for works maths day, four nations challenge etc, we'll use river app for education to stream the flash content.
