Involving parents in extending gifted and talented children

Discussion in 'Special educational needs' started by aylingsophie, May 6, 2011.

  1. Hi guys, I'm currently doing a small piece of action research for a local gifted and talented course and my research involves including parents in pupil progress meetings to ensure parents are aware of the school's expectations and strategies for extending their child and to encourage them to support their learning at home.
I need to explain why i've chosen to include parents and am struggling to explain the benefits for including parents in length and using relevant vocabulary for a research report, can anyone help me please? It is friday and i'm having a mental block!! any input would be very grateful!!
Also, if anyone knows of any research or reading material linked to this topic accessible online, I would be really interested in reading it.
    Thank you x
