involving children in assessing their learning

Discussion in 'Early Years' started by nearly qualified, Apr 4, 2011.

  1. Hi
We use talking partners where they share with their partner what they think they have learnt at the end of a session or during different parts of a session.
Also on any recorded work I usually stamp 3 faces (sad, straight, happy) and ask them to colour the one that they feel fits with their learning (happy being yes I understood it, sad, no I didnt) - takes a bit of practise because at first they always just want to colour the happy face in.
Thumbs up/down occasionally but it doesnt always tell you a great deal.
