  3. hmmm it could be a riddle or a puzzle to solve.
  4. 15mins really isn't much time is - how about you find a very basic - dull - piece of descriptive writing, you could easily write a paragraph or two yourself for this, then your Y3s could develop better sentences by adding adjectives and/or adverbs ...adjectival/adverbial phrases or clauses as a challenge for the more able etc. Just a thought as you could present it all jazzed up on a smartboard but equally you could cope if technology fails on the day (believe me it can) and the children can work on their whiteboards.

    Thanks for all the advice I did the lesson this afternoon and have just had the phone call to say I have made it through to the interview stage tomorrow. I took your advice and I adapted a 30min lesson that I had successfully done for interview before, I shortened the main activity and got them to do it with partners and white boards on the carpet. Seems to have worked anyway. Thanks again for all the advice. Now a night spent looking at interview questions.
