Discussion in 'Jobseekers' started by wesolowska, Jul 2, 2011.

  1. Hi guys, I got an interview on Tuesday and am suppose to teach a 45 minutes lesson on music in french. After some interviews without job with some frustration setting in, am short of ideas.
Can someone come to my aid pleaseeeeee.
    Thanks in advance

Presumably your specialism is either music, mfl or both?In which case you're the best person to come up with some ideas.
I assume this is part of PLTS, Building Learrning Power, Creative Curriculum etc which is why there is a crossover, so you need to think how to exploit this.
Have a very definite Learning Focus/Objective, which is achievable within the timeframe and do ensure you have some criteria on how to measure this in your plenary. Think about the practical aspects of the lesson if you're going to use instruments, about any vocabulary which needs teaching or at least assessing at the start of the lesson.
    Best of luck.

  3. Thanks Lara mfl. My speciality is MFL. the pupils have just been introduced to media/film topic. I have been asked to continue with the media topic, intoducing music or internet. I am thinking of introducing musical genre eg hip pop, rap etc plus diferent musical instruments then move on to ask th pupils to say what genre they listen to and add opinions-nc level 3. my problm now is how to practically do it.

Ah,now different to my previous interpretation!
So you need to work out which grammar structure you want to focus on.e.g. j'aime ecouter. . . or Ich hoere gern . . . . or me gusta escuchar a la/los . . or whichever language structure you decide on (aplogies for no accents never worked out how to do them using the keyboard).Do you assume these will have been previously taught or are you going to teach them?
How will you teach them the vocab? Flashcards, powerpoint, soundfiles etc?
