interview lesson observation

Discussion in 'NQTs and new teachers' started by rireku, Nov 3, 2011.

  1. Hi,
I’m an NQT and I have a 20 min interview lesson observation in a year 4/5 class. I have not been given a specific objective, what can I do in 20 min with a mixed aged class?? Thanks.

  2. Lots of things. Choose a subject and topic you like and are comfortable with. Devise a specific, measurable objective and teach the children something. At the end of the 20 mins prove they they've met the objective. Simples.

Agree with above. 20 minutes is not a lot of time, use it wisely, don't under plan - have back ups, and write a lesson plan! Remember to explain to the kids what they are doing and why!! Don't panic! Use the experience as part of your learning curve! Remember to wear something which is smart but comfortable... oh, and Good luck!
