  3. I had to do an interview lesson on exactly the same topic last year. How long is the lesson? I designed a worksheet for the kids, on one side it info on why companies do product analysis etc etc, and on the other side the kids had to do an analysis of a product themselves.
I took in a product (mini jaffa cakes (bribery))and got the kids to disassemble it in groups.. They had to fill in the relevant boxes on the worksheet with the aid of laminated key words (sensory descriptors) that i took in.
Didn't get job cos of **** interview, but the lesson was a hit.
Will send u worksheet if you want?

  4. analyse mobile phones, (ask family and friends for their old mobile phones)

A good lesson for food tech is if you buy some tins of different qualities of a product like fruit salad. You can then look at the ingredients on the backs of the tins and get pupils to discuss which and why certain thing maybe added or not added etc. Final part of lesson is to do an 'eat test' Create worksheets to go with it

  13. hi there, trainee teacher here looking for assistance, i've got my first interview coming up and have been asked to do a short 20-30 minute lesson with a year 9 resistant materials group on (you guessed it) product analysis,

  14. Hello. Well done for getting the job! I have to do the same interview lesson next week! Please could I have a cope of the lesson you did? It would be a great help, I have lots of ideas but unsure on what to go with at the moment! Many thanks Adam

  15. having read the thread I have only just realised how long ago it was!!! Had anyone got a copy to put on the Tes resources website instead of asking for copies to be sent individually? That is if the originator doesn't mind. Does anyone know if Jaffa cakes contain gelatine or some other jelling agent as I assume muslims wouldn't eat them

  17. Hi there,
I have my first interview lesson next week and the theme is product analysis.
It is for a Graphics/RM role, but as a Graphics specialist I am thinking along the lines of food packaging...
however, I want the kids to enjoy the lesson and I really really want the job - do you recommend the Jaffa cake idea and would it be possible to send me the worksheet (emmakenward@aol.com), many thanks.
