Interview - 'Getting to know you'

Discussion in 'New teachers' started by charlie-m18, Apr 22, 2012.

  1. Hi,
I have been shortlisted for my first primary teaching job interview in a few days -
exciting! But I've been asked to take a 15 minute 'Getting to know you
session' with a mixed year Key Stage 2 class. I've been thinking but I'm
stuck on what I could do...
It's only 15 minutes so I was thinking a short game, possibly involving names and likes/ dislikes... If anyone has any suggestions that would be
    fantastic! Thanks!
  2. How about you do a game where the kids find out what each other like and dislike...

Devise something like a 3x3 grid, maybe even 4x3. Each box in the grid has a statement in it, something like 'can play a musical instrument'. They have to go round the room finding someone to put in each box, but can't use the same person more than once. Could make it harder, and dependent on class size, and say they need a boy and a girl in each box
