Interview for a TA position in a special school, please help!

Discussion in 'Teaching assistants' started by freckles88, Feb 16, 2011.

  1. I have a job interview as a TA in a special school and I am so nervous! Can anyone give me some advice on what kind of questions are usually asked for this kind of role? Thanks! x
  2. Hello again!

I can't quite remember what I was asked. But,I vaguely remember:
What experience do you have with sen?
What are your strengths / what could you bring to the role?
Why do you want to work with sen?
Does changing nappies/dealing with challenging children faze you? Do you think you could cope?
Do you think you would consider becoming a senior lsa or teacher in future? (my school offers training )

I was also asked about my education and why I decided to change career paths.

I think it's important just to be yourself and be completely honest. Also, it's important to put across how passionate you feel about the role and how much you want the job (without looking too desperate of course!).

Just try to relax and I'm sure you'll do great!
